Krua Chaiwat has been in activity for ages and it’s a bit of an institution in Prachuap Khiri Khan. If you stay a few days in town, there are chances you will eat in this restaurant since it’s one of the most popular place to eat in town. There are obvious reasons to that : central location, friendly staff, good food and low prices.
Krua Chaiwat offers a large selection of thai food with prices starting at 40฿ (for a plate of fried rice). You’ll find there all the classics of thai cuisine from green curry to tom yum, trough coconut chicken soup. The menu has also a lot of western dishes: american breakfast, sandwiches, pastas, steaks, salads…. As i said before, prices are very low: for example, you’ll be charged 65฿ for a club sandwich and 100฿ for a steak. I would also like to mention the milkshakes which are delicious and are really a good deal for only 30฿. All in all, you can expect to pay around 200฿ for a 2 person meal.
The place attracts both thai people and westerners and is frequently full especially during high season. So be prepared to wait a bit for a free table if you come to eat at Krua Chaiwat in december or january.
